Millcreek Children's Center Receives a Two-Star Rating!

We are excited to announce that Millcreek Children's Center has received a Two-Star Step Up To Quality rating from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Step Up To Quality is a voluntary rating system for early care and educational centers. Partipating programs can earn a one, two, or three-star rating by meeting an extensive list of benchmarks which exceed Ohio's child care licensing standards.

What does this mean for our pupils at Millcreek Children's Center?

As a Two-Star Center, MCC has met and/or exceeded the following benchmarks:

Lower student to teacher ratios in the classrooms
50% of teachers have early childhood degrees/credentials (100% of our teachers are degreed)
Teaching staff and administration complete 10 hours of specialized training per year
Developmental screenings are conducted on pupils upon entry to program
Ohio's Early Learning Content Standards are incorporated in the curriculum planning

Research has shown that children enrolled in high quality learning programs, particularly low income children, are more likely to stay in school, attend college, earn more money, and be employed in more high-skilled jobs than their peers. At MCC we are committed to continue providing the high-quality programming that gives our pupils an extra educational advantage as they enter kindergarten.
