Yes, the uniform consists of a plain white polo style uniform top and plain navy pants, shorts or skorts. Uniforms are optional during the summer session (June & July). What kind of shoes should the preschoolers wear? The best shoes for an active child are shoes which close with Velcro, tie or buckle. They will stay firmly on active feet. Tennis shoes are fine. Sandals are permitted however they will not be allowed to join active play on the playground because loose fitting shoes with open toes pose a safety concern. You are permitted to bring a pair of tennis shoes for your child to change into during this time. Should parents purchase any pencils, paper, or classroom materials? No, all materials necessary for the classroom are provided by the Center. Do the children bring a lunch? No, a balanced nutritious lunch is provided. You will receive a monthly lunch calendar. If there is a health reason or religious reason for your child not to eat something listed on the menu, you may prepare the appropriate paperwork, supplied by our registrar, and then bring in substitute food for the luncheon meal. When can parents talk to the teacher about their child's progress? Parents are asked not to engage the teacher in a lengthy discussion at arrival or departure time. The teacher must concentrate on the supervision of the children in the classroom. A parent can schedule a conference with the teacher by contacting the Coordinator who will arrange for a private discussion with the teacher at a scheduled time. Parent conferences are regularly scheduled during the year. Can parents supply treats for a child's birthday?
