Our Board of Directors provides leadership for Developing Potential, Inc., a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation under the Revised Code of the State of Ohio. Its purpose as stated in the Articles of Incorporation is "to establish, conduct, and maintain programs for persons with educational, social, developmental, and rehabilitative needs." The Developing Potential, Inc. Board of Directors is composed of dedicated volunteers representing a wide range of interests and expertise. The Board meets every other month in regular session and attends additional meetings as needed. The Board members are elected by the Board for a term of six years, renewable by the Board. The Board also invites advisors who provide expertise as needed in special situations. The Board has responsibility for the direction and supervision of the two significant programs it founded - Millcreek Children's Center (preschool) begun in 1976 and Youngstown Community School (charter school) begun in 1998. Kudos to our Board for investing their talent and resources to provide high quality education in inner-city Youngstown for almost 400 children ages three through twelve. |
